BYD 2nd Generation Blade Battery & FLASH Charging

BYD has launched its 2nd Generation Blade Battery and FLASH Charging Technology, setting a new benchmark in electric vehicle performance. These breakthroughs address two of the biggest challenges for EV users: slow charging speeds and poor performance in low temperatures.
The 2nd Generation Blade Battery allows vehicles like the DENZA Z9GT to achieve a range of 1,036 km and charges from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes, reaching 97% in 9 minutes. Even in extreme cold, such as -30°C, charging time increases by only three minutes compared to room temperature.
To support this technology, BYD is building 20,000 FLASH Charging Stations across China by the end of 2026, with plans for a global rollout. The FLASH Charger, featuring a 1500 kW single-connector output and a user-friendly “Zero-Gravity” T-shaped pulley design, delivers fast, safe, and grid-friendly charging accessible to the public.
The 2nd Generation Blade Battery combines high energy density, rapid charging, and advanced thermal management, demonstrating BYD’s commitment to safety and innovation. Paired with lightweight car body engineering in vehicles like the Denza Z9GT, it represents a new frontier in electric mobility.
This launch is a major step toward BYD’s “Three Green Dreams”, accelerating the global shift to intelligent, sustainable mobility and supporting a greener future for generations to come.
